Yin

Yin practices bring our bodies sensitivity into poses, finding our appropriate edge and moving into the furthest range of motion, compassionately and mindfully. Practicing this way we find a tolerable depth of stretch, we learn to place ourselves in mildly uncomfortable positions, we begin to find calmness in positions we once we found stress and tension, we begin to release tension where we once stored it.

Yin allows the body to slowly open, teaches us to calmly observe what arises, without tensing against it. This slowly develops our ability to tone down our nervous systems and enjoy the feelings of calmness and release.

Have pillows, blankets, cushions, towels, bolsters so that you can support your body in the poses.

Either listen to the voice recording and interpret the poses how ever you like, or use the pictures and take 5-20 breaths in each before slowly moving to the next pose.

16th May 2017 – Self Worth

What you think of yourself is far more important than what other people think of you. Nourish and nurture yourself. Take charge of what you need. Listen to you inner voice and bravely follow it.

“It’s not what you are that is holding you back, it’s what you think your not. Respect yourself. Admire yourself. Forgive yourself. Accept yourself. Love yourself.”

15th May 2017 – Letting your light Shine

We all have a gift, it is our purpose to share it, not hide it. We are in competition with no one, when we let our light, our talents and gifts shine through, there is room for us all.

When we share our gifts, when we live to our fullest potential, we help others live to theirs. When we shine, we recognise that we are special and share our light, we allow others to do the same. When we see the best in ourselves, we see the best in others and together we can lift each other up, we can empower each other to become more passionate about what we can achieve when we see the best in each other and allows all of us to shine.

See the best in you. Shine through and allow yourself to be all you can be. By allowing yourself to be you, you inspire others to be them.

11th May 2017 – Acceptance

Never apologise for you are. When we accept ourselves for who we are we free ourselves from that drama that comes from needing others to accept us.

“Love yourself, forgive yourself, accept yourself”

9th May 2017 – Compassion and Acceptance

Cultivating self compassion and acceptance to the person you requires us to be kind, mindful and connected. Use this practice to be notice how you treat yourself, to observe your inner dialog and to practice being kind to yourself as you reconnect to you.

“I offer compassion to myself and others. We are all doing the best we can with the understanding, awareness and knowledge we have.”

8th May 2017 – Yin – Self Worth

Your self worth is defined by how you feel about yourself, not how others feel about you. Use this practice to become aware of who you unwillingly or unknowingly give your power to. Who are you letting decide what your worth or value is? The only persons opinion about you that matters, is your own.

I am strong. I am confident. I am beautiful. I am perfect. I am worthy. You are worthy of the best in life. Loving accept that.

4th May 2017 – Yin – Forgiveness

It takes strength to forgive. Forgiveness doesn’t mean you give in, and it does not make you weak. Forgiveness sets you free. Use this practice to free yourself from guilt, anger, remorse and grudges from your past, free yourself for you future and find peace in this moment.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t.

Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance – Take it. If it changes your life – Let it.

2nd May 2017 – Yin

Yin yoga is a series of poses held in stillness for extended periods of time with support so muscles can release. .
The body responds to long supported holds by lengthening tight tissues to create flexibility and putting the tissues under just enough pressure to strengthen them creating safer joint movement. .
Follow your breath, not your mind. .

1st May 2017 – Yin

Use this practice to become aware of the busy mind. The mind is so used to being busy that when moments of quiet are invited in, the mind craves stimuli, anything to fill the quiet moments, the gaps. These gaps, moments of quiet are necessary, so we can simply be, here and now.

“I am a kind, compassionate and joyful person, harmoniously linked with everyone I come into contact with”

27th April 2017 – Yin

Release into this yin practice and connect to your heart so you wholeheartedly feel love for yourself and offer it freely to others.

“All thoughts, words and actions come from a place of love”

ps. There are a few renovations going on during this recording. Do your best to tune them out and focusing on opening your heart, as challenging as it can be, as annoying as the noise may be, move from a place of love.

In our busy lives it can be challenging to switch off and give the body and mind enough time to rest and repair.

Gift yourself some time completely for yourself and allow the body and mind to release and relax as you sink into these poses and feel the balance returning to body, mind and breath.

Classes are between one hour and one and a half hours.

Have with you, two blocks (or similar) two bolsters (or towels/blankets rolled up, long pillow) and 1 strap (or scarf, leg rope, sarong)
